RJ is a first-year scholar from High Point, NC pursuing majors in Computer Science and Data Science, with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence. He plans to focus his research and studies on data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. During his years in High School, he attended an early/ middle college where he was able to graduate high school with his associate of arts degree as well as a Java programming certificate. He volunteered with an organization called Keep High Point Beautiful, where he focused on keeping his community green and educating his community about protecting and preserving their environment. In sports, RJ excelled in track and football, earning Division One recruitment for football. He also expressed his other passions and interests through his hobbies, such as piano and art. RJ plans to carry on his diverse interests and passions with him as a Levine Scholar as he further explores his intellectual curiosity. As for his civic engagement, RJ plans to serve as a mentor and guide for black youth, expanding their minds to the field of technology, as well as uplifting and encouraging them to multidimensionally better themselves and the people around them.
